Life
Stephen was born as a son of Madeleine and Cyrus S. Collins. General James Baird Weaver is the great-great grandfather of Stephen. He was brought up in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York along with his two siblings.
Stephen attended Amherst College, where he played bass guitar and rhythm guitar in numerous rock and roll bands. That band list embraces Tambourine Charlie & The Four Flat Tires, The Naugahyde Revolution and The Flower & Vegetable Show.
Career
Stephen’s Broadway theatre experience embraces his portrayals in “Moonchildren”, ‘The Ritz”, “The Loves of Anatol”, and “No Sex Please”, “We’re British” and as a king in “Spamalot”.
His other than Broadway experience includes his appearance in “Beyond Therapy”, in “Macbeth” at Lincoln center and in “Putting It Together” at Manhattan Theatre Club.
His portrayal as Commander Willard Decker in “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” is like a milestone in his professional career.
His other television appearances includes guest appearances in “The Waltons”, “Barnaby Jones”, “Charlie’s Angels” and starring role in “Tales of the Gold Monkey” and “Tattingers”.

Stephen was also nominated in Emmys for his portrayal in the miniseries “The Two Mrs. Grenvilles” and for playing the role of John F. Kennedy in “A Woman Named Jackie”.
7th Heaven
Stephen portrayed the role of Reverend Eric Camden in about 200 episodes of the well-known television series 7th Heaven, His portrayal was widely appreciated by everyone.
Personal Life
Stephen has been married to the very beautiful actress Faye Grant since April 21, 1985. He is the father of a very pretty daughter Kate.
Moreover, he is enthusiastically practicing Episcopalian and in addition, also works on Transcendental Meditation.
